One of my best friends stubbornly refuses to download TikTok. He'll get too addicted, he says, and he'll just end up wasting all of his time scrolling. Besides, so many of the people who post on there are really dumb. Anyway, guess who commits to sending me Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts every other hour of the day? Also, he adored Vine.

My point is, you will never escape the lure of short form video when you are past a certain point of internet knowledge. It's just too digestible for all the content purveyors to let it go unnoticed. It can also be pretty compelling, if you know where to look. We have to hand it to the TikTokers, they are nothing if not creative with how they express themselves. This often is not a good thing, but it is an entertaining one. Just take a look at everything they have to say in this list.
